Kianthumbi mini hydro power project is a development of by Hydro Project Service Peters Ltd (Hydro PSP) on a construct own and operate (COO) basis in Kenya.

Located at Kianthumbi in Kirima Kianthi sublocation, Abothuguchi location Katheri East Division, Imenti Central sub-county, Meru County, along River Kathita; the project once complete will generate 650kW which will be supplied to the National Grid.

Hydro PSP entered into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Kenya Power in February 2018 and is currently undertaking construction at site. The projected commercial Operation Date is Dec 2019.

Hydro PSP is doubles up as the developer and contractor of the project and has adequate in-house capacity to deliver the whole scope of the project. In this regard, we are a registered contractor with the National Construction Authority (NCA) in Kenya for; Building Works, Mechanical Works, Electrical works and Water Works.
